But while questions linger, one rookie is stealing the spotlight at training camp: Andrew Mukuba.
Drafted out of the University of Texas, Mukuba wasn’t a high-profile name on draft night. Yet on the field, he’s looked every bit like a potential game-changer. His quick reaction time, sharp football IQ, and natural instincts have made him a standout during camp sessions.
Multiple beat reporters have highlighted his string of impressive pass breakups and his growing chemistry with the starting unit. In fact, coaches have already begun rotating Mukuba into first-team reps — a clear sign that the door is wide open.
One member of the coaching staff put it plainly:
"He just gets it. Nobody has to tell him where to be — he reacts like a guy who's been in the league for years. That’s something you can’t teach."
It’s too early to declare him the savior of the safety unit, but Mukuba is making a strong case to stay when final roster decisions come around.
