During a recent appearance at Pocono Raceway, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced that the state will not commit any public funding for new sports stadiums, including a potential replacement for Lincoln Financial Field (The Linc) — the Eagles’ home since 2003.

This announcement quickly stirred concern and frustration among fans. The Eagles’ lease at The Linc is set to expire in 2032, and team owner Jeffrey Lurie has previously expressed that he's “torn” between rebuilding or staying at the iconic venue.

Eagles fans, however, aren’t pleased. On social media, many expressed disappointment, pointing out the team’s massive contributions to the local economy and city pride.

So far, the Eagles have not made any official statement. Experts say the team might now pursue private investment options or renegotiate a more favorable lease to remain at The Linc.
