First-Round Rookie Dubbed Eagles’ Defensive Prodigy Feels Lucky to Join the Team, Hopes to Help Bring Another Super Bowl to Philly
Fresh off being drafted, Jihaad Campbell – the Eagles’ first-round pick in 2025 – is already turning heads not just for his raw talent but also for his humility and hunger to win. Speaking at his introductory press conference after signing his rookie deal in early June, Campbell made it clear: joining the Eagles was “the biggest blessing of my life.”

“I know I’ve got a lot to learn. Getting drafted by the Eagles – a team that’s won a Super Bowl, that plays with heart, and has the most passionate fans in football – that’s a huge honor,” Campbell said.
Seen by many as the missing piece on defense, Campbell comes from powerhouse Alabama, a program known for producing elite NFL defenders. With ideal size, elite speed, and natural play recognition, he’s already being labeled “the defensive prodigy of the 2025 draft class.”

But what’s won over Philly fans more than the hype is Campbell’s focus:
“I’m not here just to participate. I want to help this team bring home another Lombardi Trophy. That’s the only thing on my mind.”
Under the guidance of head coach Nick Sirianni and a defense that’s going through a youthful evolution, Jihaad Campbell isn’t just expected to be a future cornerstone – he could make an immediate impact in his rookie season.
The talent is there. The mindset is locked in. Now all of Philadelphia waits to see: can this rookie phenom help bring home another Super Bowl?
