Justin Rogers, the former seventh-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys, has just signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it didn’t take long before he took aim at his old team.

Rogers, who struggled to earn a starting role during his time in Dallas, was cut earlier this summer after bouncing between the practice squad and depth rotations. Now, with a fresh start in Philadelphia, the defensive tackle isn’t holding back when it comes to reflecting on his experience in Dallas.

"In Dallas, I felt like nobody really cared about developing young players. Everything was rigid and unclear. I didn’t know what I had to do to earn a shot. With the Eagles, at least I know I’m competing for a real opportunity – not against a broken system."

Rogers had been seen as a potential sleeper pick for the Cowboys' defensive line but failed to gain traction during training camp. After being waived without much fanfare, he had a brief stint with the Seahawks before the Eagles brought him in on August 12 to shore up their defensive depth during preseason.

His comments come at a time when Dallas is facing mounting criticism over their handling of contract negotiations, locker room dynamics, and their treatment of younger talent.

For Rogers, joining the Eagles isn’t just about making the roster — it’s about proving himself in an environment that values potential and performance, not just draft status.

"All I want is a fair shot," he added. "And I believe I’ll get that here in Philly."
