Philadelphia Eagles’ veteran tight end Dallas Goedert has addressed swirling trade rumors, delivering a bold six-word message to fans: “If needed, Eagles should trade me.” Speaking at a late May press conference at the NovaCare Complex, Goedert admitted to feeling uncertain about his future with the team for the first time in his seven-year NFL career.
“I’d sit on my couch, staring at the TV, wondering, ‘What’s next?’” Goedert told SI.com, reflecting on the trade speculation fueled by the Eagles’ tight salary cap. To ease the financial strain, Goedert and the Eagles restructured his contract in early May 2025, per CBS Sports. The deal secures him a $10 million base salary for 2025, plus a $1 million performance-based bonus, down from his original $14.25 million.
“I’m grateful for a fair deal here,” Goedert said. “I know my worth, and so do the Eagles.” Despite the agreement, his candid message about a potential trade shocked fans. “If it helps the team succeed, I’m okay with moving on,” he added, showing his willingness to sacrifice for the Eagles’ future.
